Not Much

(Sorry I keep changing the blog, the last one was a little to pink for Chris. I think he won't mind this one.)

Not much has been going on here. Malachi had his six month check last week and only gained seven ounces. That's it, we couldn't believe. He seems so much bigger to us. He had his last set of shots for a while, including a flu shot. He was a little sick for two days, but it was just a reaction to the shots, nothing unusual. Malachi is growing up so fast though. He can set up on his own and has really good balance. He does fall over every now and then, hence the pillows in the background. He is trying to crawl, but hasn't figured out the arms and legs part to it, so he rolls on to his back arches his back, getting on his head, then pushes his feet and rolls back over to reach for what he wants. If he can't reach it still he does it all over again. It is so funny to watch. He crawls on his back.
Malachi has grown fond of the dogs. He will sit and stare at them, smile and laugh just watching them. Once he gets a hold of them though he is even more excited. The dogs are liking the attention they are getting from him too. They come and lay by him now so he can pet them.
I love to cuddle with Malachi and take little naps with him. Chris was sneaky and got a picture of it. I hope Malachi never grows out of cuddling and sleeping with me, it's so nice.

Chris started his new shift last Monday. He now works 2:45pm to 12:45am and gets home around 1:30am, Monday - Thursday and has Friday -Sunday off. Yeah three day weekends and they really are on the weekend. So far we are liking the new schedule, it will take some getting use to with three days off, we keep getting confused as to what day it is.
Hope all is going well with everyone.

Happy Birthday Chris!!

Yesterday we celebrated Chris's 25th birthday. We started it off with me breaking down and buying Chris an xbox 360. A friend of a friend was selling one and I just couldn't turn down the offer. It took a lot of work to make sure Chris didn't expect anything, with me making a trip to Denver to pick up the xbox. I had to come up with excuses to keep Chris from driving the car and taking our "SU-Van" (as Chris calls it) so he wouldn't notice the mileage. I also had to keep him from checking the bank account for two days. I gave in and told him I ended up getting him a gift and that he couldn't check the account until Thrusday.

He was so shocked and surprised to see the xbox Thrusday morning, he couldn't believe I actually bought him one. It made his day. He said it was the best present ever. We had some friends of ours babysit Malachi and we saw "Marley & Me" and loved it. It's not as good as the book, but we still enjoyed it. Then we went to dinner at Texas Road House, which we had a gift card for from Christmas (thanks Lynne). All in all we spent less than 20 bucks for his birthday, not including the xbox of course. Then we finished off the night with football, surprise surprise right? The NCAA Championship game with Oklahoma vs Flordia, Flordia won.

All in all he had a good birthday. Thanks David for helping me make the decision, thank you Kendi for having Tim call me, thank you Tim for selling us your xbox, and thank you Garrad's for watching the kiddos.

Happy New Year!!

We rang in the new year with the Knops and Perkins. Malachi had a great time being held by everyone and taking in all the new people. Anne took advantage of feeding Malachi his last bottle. Cory spent a lot of time with Malachi, until he spit up and it was back to Mom. We had a lot of fun playing Catch Phrase and Rock band. Congratulations to David Perkins who prosed New Year's Eve.
This last year has been full of excitement and we can't wait to see what the new year has to bring.
